OUR MISSION

No More Bodies is a movement for melanated people to join and become intentional and unapologetic about constructing our own narrative. We are committed to building and being our highest and best selves.

Our story

No More Bodies started from a vision of Jay White.  He wanted to challenge himself to go deeper spiritually. Jay has abstained from food and water for weeks, gone long periods of time without sexual intercourse and been very committed to starting his day at 3:30 a.m.

In this season, Jay’s spirit is calling him to a higher level of commitment! He has adopted the mantra and rehearses it frequently ‘to get something I’ve never had; I must do something I’ve never done.” This frequently rehearsed mantra instigated a forty day fast of No Sex! No Sugar!! No Swearing!!!

Jay shared his commitment to fast with a few close guy friends and clients. Without solicitation, soon thereafter Larry, Yachtze and Matt decided to join the fast with him. This sparked the idea to start a 6:30 a.m. call on Zoom for the guys to have corporate prayer. Not too long after the call was established, Jalen joined the committed group. The story creates a ripple effect…

The Ripple

It was one thing for the guys in America to be eager to join the fast, but the movement became even greater when it spread to South Africa. A couple of brothers (Dumo & Gareth) made a commitment to join the guys on the No sex! No sugar!! No swearing!!! Fast. Just when Jay thought he hit the tip of the iceberg, the fast became a bit more surreal upon his return from South Africa.

Jay had a brief conversation about the fast with Dr. Brittany Chambers while sharing a table with her at an overcrowded coffeeshop. Moments into the conversation, with tears in her eyes, she made a commitment to do something she had never done, to get something she has never had.

…And so it is!
